Okay, I apologize for not following the guidelines.
However, after some time I resolved the issue. Navigation -> Virtual folders/ files -> Uncheck hide filetypes

.mkv files are showing up just fine, but the .avi files are still nowhere to be found.

I have been using UMS for about a year and I have been loving it, so first of all congrats to some very fine work. :)
