Re: Access UMS from another PC
It all depends on what you mean by "access" UMS. There are basically two ways to access the content shared by UMS: Using a UPnP/DLNA mediarenderer (software or hardware) that communicates directly with UMS (this only works on the local IP subnet), or using a web browser that communicates with the "web interface". While UPnP/DLNA relies on multicast and thus will only work on the local subnet, HTTP (web interface) use unicast exclusively and can as such be reached from other networks, provided that routing and access is in place.
If the web-interface is only available from the local computer running UMS itself, it indicates that you have a firewall running that blocks access to the port in question (9001 by default) from the network. You must also make sure that the IP address is "valid"/routable from the other computer. When routing is working and no firewall is blocking access, the web-interface should work from any device.
