Please see the red section above to create your logs. The ones you posted were incomplete and in the wrong mode.
From what I could see there are some exception errors like this.
Code: Select all

I tried it again - Please check the file. I do it with a new installation of UMS 15.0.0. so the server scanned a lot on the resource drives. But I get the same Error if I try to access to mp4 Video Files on the BRAVIA KDL-46WE5W.
Some Informations about the mp4 - File:
lenght 02:47:01
width: 720
height: 576
Video Data rate 3200 kBits/s
Complete Data rate 3520 kBits/s
System PAL: 25 P/s

What exactly is the problem?
I don't see any errors. I can see browse requests from the TV and the file lists sent back so they must be showing up on the TV.
I'm not an expert at these communications but everything looks fine and the IDs look correct.
Do you only see folders but no videos?
I did not see any of the errors I saw before though, but if you did a clean installation it might have cleared any database related problems.
The file scan was happening so was difficult to separate that from what was happening on the TV. Best to let the scan finish before making logs.
There were some exceptions related to MP3 files not being recognised as image files during a file scan.
This is a known issue but not really a problem as they are not images. I think a check is missing to only examine image files for their image type and not all files.
Could you post logs of 13.6 so I can compare to see what is different?

I've done a clean installation. And if I jump in the folder I get the message "No items are available for display." on the TV.
This problem exist in my eyes since version 13.7. If I fall back to version 13.6. it works (but I get a wrong position of the video on the TV if I switch the TV scale to "smart" - that's the reason why I've tried several newer versions).

Does anything appear on your TV.
I can see from those logs that you are able to browse folders and in the transcode (#--UMWANDLUNG--#) folder for "Oppenheimer-Match" so you must be seeing something.
Is it inside those folders that are empty or when selecting the root UMS folder? It could be something is wrong with the data UMS is sending to the TV
It would be helpful if you posted logs from 13.6 so I can compare and see what is different.
Browse to the same folder so I can do a one to one compare.
I don't know what you mean by TV scale to smart. Is this the screen format?
Are the videos that are in 4:3 format being stretched?
If so there can be something you can add to the renderer conf to keep the aspect ratio by adding black bars if they need transcoding.
If they are being streamed (I think most of your videos will be) then the TV has to set the aspect ratio.
As this is something in the conf file this has probably not been changed for a while so will still be the same in v15
I looked at the manual for that TV and the smart setting will fill the screen but cut off the top and bottom of the video.
I think there is an auto setting in the menus that switches to 4:3 for those videos. (see page 16 and 37 of the
manual)

Attached you will found the trace with version 13.6 - it works there.
The second point with the "Smart mode" on the Sony Bravia is not easy to describe. The resolution seems to be fine, but the center of the movie is not on the center of the screen. So on left side I've got a black vertical stripe and on the right side the picture is incomplete (cut off)

Those logs were a bit weird as it was not in trace mode but did show some trace entries, just not the ones I'm looking for. There was also errors probably due to the downgrade.
Try doing a clean install of 13.6 then try again.
One thing I did see was the conf that it is using in v15 is different than 13.6.
There were new confs added to support newer 4K Bravia TVs and it is choosing to a fall-back conf for future proofing but that really should not be used.
This conf says the TV can play them so will stream them unaltered but if those videos are not natively supported the TV hides them.
I think this may be why they are not shown.
I checked what year you TV was made and it is quite old so should not use these new ones.
I have altered the old conf it was using so it has priority over the new one and I have tweaked it to remove the aspect ratio setting so should position it correctly.
Copy this to
C:\ProgramData\UMS\renderers and restart UMS. This will not get overwritten in this location when UMS is updated.
If the aspect ratio is still incorrect then try experimenting with the settings on your TV and with the options
Code: Select all
#KeepAspectRatio = true
#KeepAspectRatioTranscoding = true
in that conf. I have just commented them out with # at the start so deleting that will enable that option again.
From what I read in the manual the aspect ratio should be automatic on the TV if that is turned on so UMS does not need to convert it.
Another thing that may be a factor is that you have the VLC transcoding engine as the first priority. I'm not sure if this will take into account the aspect ratio.
Try setting FFmpeg to the highest priority so it is used instead and that should use the aspect ratio settings correctly.

the new conf file brings a solution for the problem with the picture. So I prefer to use the 13.6 installation with the conf file as long as it works - "never change a running system" And many thanks for your help!!

I suggest you do update to 15.2 when that is publicly available as that fixed some some transcoding issues for some videos.
I can't remember if it was in 13.6 or just after that these issues appeared due to a change in how the FFmpeg command line works.
With that conf it should work as it should on that version now.
