Mac menu bar icon problems

Two problems with the menu bar icon (not the Dock icon) on the Mac:

1. I'd like to disable it, because I never use it, and it clutters the menu bar. I don't see a setting for that. Could there be one? Thanks.

1. It's always white, which is fine with a dark desktop background, but invisible on a light background. Every other menu bar icon I have inverts its light/dark color appropriately, except UMS:

It should change automatically based on the desktop wallpaper (why do we put wallpaper on a desktop? :) ). It's not related to the overall Light/Dark Appearance setting of the Mac.

I don't know anything about the Mac to say how to hide it.

On windows you can choose what tray icons to show and set them to hidden to a separate menu.
I assume MacOS has a similar ability somewhere.

The icons should follow the system theme for the colours but maybe the UMS icon is missing that for light mode where it should be dark.

I suggest you open an Issue on GitHub about this.
