Hi,

I use the latest UMS version on both pc's (Windows 7).
I noticed a problem with the subtitles, everything is ok and suddenly sometimes in the middle of the movie a subtitle from other movie/episode will start, happened while I streamed from both the pc's. It's annoying, how to fix this?

Have same issue on:
- Samsung TV
- UMS 5.0.1 on Windows 7 x64
- All media files (with external subtitles, .txt, utf-8, mdvd format)

Playing first video is fine, but on next one on some point subtitles from another video came up messing current subs.

Configs attached.

It seems to me that the some Samsung TV's in the polish version have that problem. The same issue was reported also here viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2959. Unfortunately you didn't follow instructions "Forum rules" written on the top of this page and didn't set the debug level to the TRACE and didn't reproduce the bug. Please do it.

On Mencoder same problem. Trace logs in attachment.
Also subtitles on: http://192.168.1.100:5001/get/102/Gotha ... le0000.txt are fine
no extra lines there. Mkv don't have any subtitles in and its mixing subtitles from first watched video (Big Bang Theory).

TV: Samsung UE48H6400 (with latest updates)
PC: Java 1.8u31 on Windows 7 x64

Comment these lines in your Samsung-NotCD.conf file:

Code: Select all

#SubtitleHttpHeader = CaptionInfo.sec
#SupportedExternalSubtitlesFormats = SUBRIP,ASS,TEXT,MICRODVD,WEBTT,SAMI
#SupportedInternalSubtitlesFormats = SUBRIP,ASS,TEXT,MICRODVD,WEBTT,SAMI
It will disable support for subs via DLNA/UPnP servers so UMS will hardcode them to video.
If subs will be OK, problem is not FFmpeg or other transcoding engine.
Then try uncommenting only one line from top to bottom with UMS restart.
If problem arise, you will know which option is root cause. Maybe UMS burns subs into video and also sends subs as another stream which TV automatically load so subs are mixed.
Sorry, had no time to read it from logs 8-)

Code: Select all

#SubtitleHttpHeader = CaptionInfo.sec
Commenting this line cause video playback stop after few minutes on any video.

Code: Select all

#SupportedExternalSubtitlesFormats = SUBRIP,ASS,TEXT,MICRODVD,WEBTT,SAMI
#SupportedInternalSubtitlesFormats = SUBRIP,ASS,TEXT,MICRODVD,WEBTT,SAMI
Commenting this lines cause no subtitles on TV.

You should comment all and then uncomment one by one.
It means all lines are commented. Here it is logical there can't be any subs without transcoding. You must select the right subs from transcode folder.
Then uncommented only first line which is specific to Samsung TV and must be present when second or third line is uncommented.
In your case when external and also internal subs are enabled, maybe UMS load both of them, one external and one internal. I am not sure what is the logic in latest code so your quick test can answer it easily.
Thx

Like I said, subtitles are mixing or video playback stops after few minutes - depends on witch options are comented.
I give up, leaving UMS and other that kind of software, started using external drive where I drop video for playback.

Thanks for trying.
Best regards, Jerry.
