Audio randomly turns into static noise

Every now and then while streaming a movie to my PS3, the audio is suddenly replaced by what sounds like very loud white noise. When this happens, the video suddenly speeds up as well (video speeds up about 1/2 second before the sound goes bonkers). Stopping and restarting playback usually gets things back on track... until the next time it happens (tonight it occurred 3-4 times during a movie). I haven't isolated a pattern of when it happens; it seems random. This has been happening for several versions now, but I finally captured a log to attach. 
I'm currently running UMS 6.5.1.
My setup is that UMS streams to a Playstation 3, which is connected to a surround receiver via optical cable. Can someone help me interpret the log file? It should contain one incident that took place just before playback was stopped (so near the end of the log entries).
