"The main ports UMS uses is 5001 (main), 9001 (web interface), and 9002 (web player) with the default settings.
There might be some system level ports to do with UPnP but I don't remember what they are."
Thanks for the input. The 5001, 9001 etc ports remain constant for the UMS image, but that ...

Re: [Tutorial] How to install UMS in Docker
I largely get IP comms, subnets, bridging (no IP involved) and routing (IP only, no MAC frames), but:
- All my kit is on a single subnet of 192.168.0.0, and the NAS is at 192.168.0.150
- On setting up the container for UMS, the setup requires a new subnet for it to 'live in', e.g. 172.17.0.0, and ...

Re: [Tutorial] How to install UMS in Docker
Thanks, but still no luck.
My choices were "lo" or "eth0..." but neither worked.
The container claims to be on its own 172 subnet, and the NAS on my LAN is on a 192 subnet and if so, routing would be necessary, but the term used in Container Manager is "bridging", but then, you cannot bridge two ...

Re: [Tutorial] How to install UMS in Docker
NB, I can access <my_NAS_IP>:<ports> to view the server setup, media folders etc, but I meant that I cannot "see" UMS as a server from the point of view of any of the DLNA renderers on my LAN - it appears to be undiscoverable..... DLNA seems to be set up OK by default....

Re: [Tutorial] How to install UMS in Docker
I have revisited my attempt to get UMS as a docker image running on my DSM 423+ with DSM 7.3x
Starting from scratch, I re-installed the image and set up the user stuff (like where my mucic files are, and also created some other folders for reasons I'm not yet sure about), and the UMS docker image ...

Re: 250k downloads on Docker Hub
Indeed - the Docker concept is OK, but flawed because every installation is different and requires detailed knowledge of the nuances of each environment in order to get the images to work. I have read tons of "expert" articles saying "all you do is X & Y" and none of it seems to be applicable!

Re: 250k downloads on Docker Hub
This is great - but I use UMS on my PC, and would like to run it on my Synology 423+ NAS (DSM 7.2.2).
I have been able to install it, but cannot get UMS to be visible on my LAN (maybe something I don't understand about Docker and networking/bridging etc), and cannot I sort out configuring UMS on my ...

Re: Renderer graphics
Thanks - I appreciate the reply.
It might be nice for the devs to include the Evo pic in the standard release though - the unit is one the 2-3 top streamer/amps.
I will try the advice for my Evo.conf file!
TBH, I add and subtract lines in this file just to see what does and doesn't work, as I can't ...

Renderer graphics
Running UMS on my PC is great, and I have managed to get a nice graphic to show in the UMS UI of my most-used renderer - a fabulous all-in-one streamer-amp, a Cambridge Audio Evo 75. (also available as a 150 version).
At a minimum, seeing the device appear when starting UMS is reassuring for me ...

Re: [Tutorial] How to install UMS in Docker
I've been running UMS on my PC for a while, and it's great - much better and simpler than the rest of the bloatware out there. Mostly used for audio, but may also extend its use to video files too...
