"[...] could not be parsed. It will be hidden"

Post by LightsOn »

Hi All,

Thank you for the work on UMS.

I have come across this as I seek a tool that will allow me to manage my own transcoding upnp device for service my recorded tv to xbmc. I am not fussed about pretty cover art etc just want simple transcoded video sent over the net to xbmc.

I have installed latest version and also tested with 3.00 on w7. I have ensured no firewall is blocking things nor any other antivirus. I have port forwarded my dyndns and an I can make connections.

No files are seen however and the log states:

"08-08 16:07:14 The file D:\path to my recorded tv file .wtv could not be parsed. It will be hidden"

I have spent several hours reading what the issue could be but there seems no definitive answer - any ideas why all files are getting "could not be parsed. It will be hidden"

Some progress:

On my local LAN I can see the UMS via UPNP connection. its shows the folders but the monitored folders i am interested in do not show the files - i guess as a result of the prior mentioned issue.

I still however cant see any connection to the UPNP if I connect via remote access directly to ip/port?

Thank you for any help or guidance in advance.
