Force No Encoding
Is there a way I can easily force No Encoding on all files, without drilling in to the Transcode folder each time?
Re: Force No Encoding
You have many options how to do it.
GLOBAL SETTINGS:
Add preferred extensions in GUI to not transcode them (Skip transcoding for the following extensions)
RENDERERLEVEL SETTINGS:
Check DefaultRenderer.conf description for "StreamExtensions=". Edit your preferred renderer.conf
More advanced path is via "Supported=" lines...

Re: Force No Encoding
If i put extensions in avi,mkv,mp4 etc GUI (Skip transcoding).. even if i restart UMS, it still says File.mkv [mEncoder]
Edit: i dont see any files on the TV if i turn off all transocding engines

Re: Force No Encoding
Encoding engine is there probably due to subtitles.
Not sure if preferred subs forces transcoding also when extensions are defined (restarting UMS is a must to be 100% sure extensions are loaded)
If file will be still transcoded, then you should set this AUDIO/SUBS preference: *,OFF
It says to UMS that for any audio you don't want any subtitles
And to be double sure forced subs will not be loaded, you should set forced language to "sm" (Samoan language)
Or easily disable subtitles in GUI (don't rememeber the exact name of this option)

Re: Force No Encoding
But, hmm, the files im testing have no subs.
Re: Force No Encoding
Both external and internal in mkv? Then log will tell
Re: Force No Encoding
Nevermind, I think the reason i see no files on my Sony W5500 when turning off transcoding engines, is because the TV does not really support any "normal" files.. Therefore UMS will, and should try to transcode basically everything.
