Staying on the version that works for you is probably best for you but does not help us track down of there is a problem that need to be fixed.
Like I said the issue is probably the defer to Mencoder option being enabled, or you have set this transcoding engine as the highest priority, and changing you settings would probably fix this in newer versions.
This is only my best guess as I don't know what is happening without seeing what it is doing in the logs.

Logs are important for us to help, Please follow This Link before asking for support. Just a forum cleaner, Will help if I can but no expert.

I understand your point of view, mik_s.
But actually, I am packing my things and living in the middle of parcels, packages, etc, because I move from Europe to Thailand in one month. This is why I do not have time to search further. Not bad will from me, just a question of availability.
