Conection to server failed
I did have this working OK with my new Panasonic smart TV, albeit slightly intermittently, but it seems to have decided suddenly not to work properly. Set-up is a wired XP home and XP Pro network with the router downstairs, straight from the line (I have FTTC), near the TV and a CAT 5 cable going upstairs to a switch which feeds my four computers. That hasn't changed. Everything looks fine initially. UMS can see the Panasonic TV. The TV can see UMS and all the shared drives and folders on the designated computer and network. However, when I click on the folders to try to see the files themselves, it shows "reading" on the TV for a while and then comes up with "Connection to the server failed". Log attached seems to just show the TV having been found and nothing else. Could this be some sort of time-out, as the folders and files are quite large? Any suggestions? I get the impression it may have something to do with updating but I could be wrong, of course!
Edit: I have just tried some smaller folders and they come up play every now and again but not every time. Still getting the "failed" error most times after the TV is "reading".

Re: Conection to server failed
Personally this sounds more like a networking issue......what router are you using? The problem appears to be once the network becomes 'active' i.e. data transfer, and my guess would be the router.
Another thought which has happened to me does UMS 'lock up', and you can't close it down and a force close and restart sorts it out.
