Make it possible to accept input from a named pipe
Make it possible to accept input from a named pipe
Hi everyone!
I thought of an idea for Universal Media Server. I think it would be cool if it could accept input from a Windows or *nix named pipe. I know that UMS uses named pipes internally for inter-process communication. Surely, it wouldn't be that hard to allow you to specify a named pipe as input, right? The reason why I want to accept input from a named pipe is that I am trying to run UMS on a Raspberry Pi Zero 2. Due to only having 512 MB of RAM, there isn't really the option of running a web server to serve my MPEG-TS streams. I figure that, if I want to me as efficient as possible, I need to use named pipes. What do you think about this idea?
Best regards,
James M.
