Version 15.8.2 is locking files
This started happening after I upgraded to 1538.2 and it didn't happen with previous versions.
I have UMS 15.8.2 running on two different computers (A and B). I download an .mkv file into a folder on computer A that is on the UMS Shared list. I try to cut and paste the file over the network into a folder on computer B. The progress bar on the move action goes right to the end and then I get a message that the move wasn't successful because the file was locked by an app. If I exit UMS on computer A, the move works okay.
I realise there are several ways to get around this but the method described above is the most convenient and it has always worked okay until version 15.8.2

I have had this issue for a long time...certainly v14.x and likely before. I am currently using v15.7.0 and it happened a couple days ago.
Like you mentioned, if it happens, I just close UMS and copy/paste the file(s) in question.

This will be because you have your download folder on the shared folders list so UMS will watch that for changes so it can update the database for new media.
One problem with this it does lock media in that folder while the files are being scanned and may not release it before to tried to move it.
I suggest you do not share your download folder and move your videos into a shared folder afterwards.

I've been using UMS since at least 2022 and in the past my routine was to download a file onto computer A (into a folder shared by UMS), as soon as complete, cut and paste to computer B and that has never previously run into a problem.
(I usually stream from computer B but on the weekends when the backup is running on computer B, I stream from computer A.)
So something has changed around the time of the new UMS version (and possible the one previous to 15.8.2). I was assuming it was something in 15.8.2 but I suppose it could have been something else on computer A that has caused it.
One work-around is to download to a folder on computer A not shared by UMS. Another is to not load UMS on boot on computer A but just load it on the weekend when I want to stream from computer A.
I have noticed that if I leave it for a while, the lock comes off the file on computer A. So that's another work-around - copy the files from the UMS shared folder on computer A to computer B and at the end of the day, delete them from computer A after the locks have expired.
Still curious as to what's causing it.
