UMS to Samsung Galaxy SIII. how?

Post by Gareee »

We just purchased two samsung Galaxy SIII hones, and I noticed that the samsung allshare is showing up under UMS's located devices now.

Is there documentation anywhere on what to install on the phones so we can access and stream from the media server to our phones?

I assume Samsung AllShare should work or you have a whole bunch of DLNA clients on Google Play.

We believe in: rough consensus and running code.

Allshare does work, but UMS is already showing thats its found the phones without it. If the phone was plugged into the pc I could probably add the folders, but I was wondering is UMS was smart enough to find the phones, if it also had some capacity to find and use the folders on the phones as well.

Using allshare, I did stream content from the phones without issue the ther day, but I did need to have a good wireless signal to stream the 1080p hi def videos recorded by the phone.

But I was hoping there might be some way to go the opposite way, for the phones to be able to play the content on our external hard drives, like album folders, or videos.
