Slow Speeds Out of Nowhere

UMS is suddenly incredibly slow when streaming/copying files to a PS3 (it worked perfectly before). Strange thing is that Windows Media Player and Serviio work just fine. I've tried updating UMS and Java, completely uninstalling UMS it and reinstalling it, and resetting the router, but can't find a solution. The only clue is that I had general router problems today (that are now fixed). I'm not sure if somehow this threw off a UMS setting I can't find (even though that doesn't make a lot of sense, considering it's been completely uninstalled and reinstalled with fresh settings).

Any ideas?

I seem to have fixed the issue by entering the IP into Force IP of the server, but I'm still wondering why that's necessary when it wasn't before? I've had ongoing troubles with my router. Could that be connected?
