Hi everyone!
I thought of an idea for Universal Media Server. I think it would be cool if it could accept input from a Windows or *nix named pipe. I know that UMS uses named pipes internally for inter-process communication. Surely, it wouldn't be that hard to allow you to specify a named pipe as ...

Re: 2010 Sony Bravia Tweaks
So, here's what I did to improve the renderer based on mik_s's suggestions:
1) I downloaded Universal Media Server 7.4.0 (the last version that has support for ffmpeg.webfilters).
2) I downloaded the latest version of ffmpeg from Gyan.dev, renamed it to ffmpeg64.exe, and replaced the ffmpeg64.exe ...

Re: [FFmpeg Web Video] videostream unnecesary transcoding?
I can confirm that, after version 7.4.0, ffmpeg.webfilters no longer works. It's too bad, though, because it would be helpful in my situation. I am trying to stream a video from the internet, and it is doing unnecessary transcoding to AVC using the libx264 encoder. I could set CustomFFMpegOptions ...

Re: [FFmpeg Web Video] videostream unnecesary transcoding?
Sorry to necro this thread, but it's really important. I tried adding a video stream to the OPTIONS section of my ffmpeg.webfilters:

# FFmpeg Web Video transcoding with respect to specific urls.

Re: 2010 Sony Bravia Tweaks
Maybe you're right, but I am too afraid to change the configuration file. I would rather just keep it the way it is, since it works for what I need it to do. Also, it was not just the transcoding settings that I had to change. I also had to alter the DLNA PN flags just to get AVCHD files to appear ...

Re: 2010 Sony Bravia Tweaks
I am 100% sure that my TV (KDL-55HX800) cannot play MP4s without them being remuxed into AVCHD. It's just too old, LOL! What happens if I remove "-c:v copy" from the FFMpeg options is that it will waste CPU cycles, and reduce image quality, by re-encoding the video as H.264/AVC. I distinctly ...

Re: 2010 Sony Bravia Tweaks
Thanks for your quick reply, mik_s! I should have stated that this renderer is meant for H.264/AVC video only. It will not work with H.265/HEVC video, or any of the other new-fangled video formats. AVCHD is just AVC video + AC-3 audio in a specially formatted MPEG2-TS container. That's what "mpegts ...

2010 Sony Bravia Tweaks
I just wanted to publish some tweaks that I made to the Sony-BraviaHX.conf renderer so that it is more compatible with 2010 Bravias. Here it is:

Re: Streaming my PC Desktop on PS3
1) Download an RTMP server, such as Unreal Media Server ( https://umediaserver.net/ ). Configure an RTMP push stream in it.
2) Download OBS Studio. Configure it to look like the settings in the bottom right corner of this screenshot https://umediaserver.net/images/rtmpencoders.png .

Re: Spotify plugin?
Actually, this is totally possible by using Spotty ( https://github.com/michaelherger/Spotty-Plugin/ ). You just need to have a paid Spotify account, because it doesn't work with free ones. Spotty will act as a DRM-free proxy server for Spotify. Once you have Spotty up and running, it's just a ...
