[Solved] Bad subtitle language detection

Post by chrisl »

Hello,

Since version 5.1.4, french subtitles appear as romanian subtitles on the TV via HDMI to PS3.
When using the "TRANSCODE" function, a romanian flag stands on the left of the subtitle name.
Although the subtitles are really french, their appear on the TV screen with special characters (which I suppose are romanian ...).

If someone can help ...

By the way, thanks so much for UMS software !!!

Cheers from France.

Can you send here an example of the bad recognized subtitles file for testing?

Sorry for the delay I was a little bit busy. I reproduced that bug. There is a problem with the codepage detection. UMS uses third party solution but the detection is not working 100%. You can solve it eider by converting of your subtitles to the UTF-8 code page or set the "Codepage for non_Unicode subtitles" at the "Transcoding setting", "Subtitles settings" to the CP1252 or ISO-8859-1.

Thank you valib !

I set the "Codepage for non_Unicode subtitles" at the "Transcoding setting", "Subtitles settings" to CP1252, and although the subtitle flag is still romanian, there are no more romanaion special characters.

So I can use 5.2.2 version !!!

Thanks again :-)

Thanks for the info. Can you try to set "Subtitles settings" back to empty and check if your subs are correctly recognized?
